So, I have been changing slowly but surely ever since I moved to this liberal city of Seattle. I started bringing my own bags everywhere, recycling, composting; I walk instead of driving, use biodegradable poo bags; I stopped eating meat, and only eat wild-caught fish. I wouldn’t eat a non-organic fruit or vegetable if you paid me. I even feed my dogs free-range chicken!
But, I don’t think it’s enough. So I got this crazy idea in my head to give up electricity. I saw a documentary, called “No Impact Man”, where his family does this for a year. Crazy. But I think I can do it for one day a week.
So, I am officially starting this experiment on Sunday. No car, no lights, no stove, no phone, no computer, no TV (yuck!). I am not going to unplug my fridge, because that’s just going overboard in my opinion (ha, I see the irony as I type this), but I am going to limit my use of everything else. Hmm... I better buy some candles...
I will let you all know how it goes!
